Can you help ICAN?

April 20, 2011

ICAN is an amazing organization, dedicated to helping educate women about Cesarean-section birth, recover from surgical birth, and preparing for vaginal birth after Cesarean (VBAC). The organization relies on volunteers, and ICAN wisely offers opportunities for what they call “mother-sized activism: small tasks for busy moms.” Check it out!

The Twin Cities ICAN blog and facebook pages are easy places to connect.

And here’s an invitation from their recent newsletter, in honor of April as Cesarean awareness month:

Memberships are on sale this month. ICAN International raises most of its money from memberships, and it is only $25 a year if you subscribe this month.  Locally, we really need volunteers!  We have so many projects planned, but just not enough time.  If you have ever wanted to get involved, this a great place to start. Since we are all moms with little children, and most of us work full time too, we don’t ask for too much.  A little goes a long way.  We need ideas, inspiration, excitement, brains, bodies and enthusiasm!  We would really love to have some new people meet up with us and help us do the good work. If you are so inspired, please join by going to our website, or email us and let us know you want to help us with our local work.  We would love to have you!!
