Friday Funny: Snack! Snack! Snack! CRUNCH!

February 8, 2013

Who can resist not one, but two cute babies dancing? Watch the cuteness multiply as they dance to the North Minneapolis sensations Y.N. Rich Kids’ “Hot Cheetos & Takis.” My son just made me play this about five times, and somehow it gets funnier each time.

Does your baby have a favorite dance tune? Tell us about it below!

Bliss On Your Mat – Yoga Nidra + Live Cello

January 10, 2013

This delicious Sunday evening workshop begins with a candlelight flow yoga sequence, followed by the profoundly healing practice of Yoga Nidra, accompanied by live cello.

What is Yoga Nidra?

391Ella Chissotti, who guides this special workshop at Blooma Minneapolis (1/13, 6-8 p.m.), explains that Yoga Nidra — or the practice of “yogic sleep” — is a guided Savasana that brings you into deep relaxation, allowing you to release tension and many other unresolved and unconscious issues that are playing a role in some of the unwanted habits you might consciously notice.

All set to the gorgeous sounds of Daniel Zamzow’s cello. Sure sounds like bliss to me…

Sign up online or call Blooma (Mpls) at 612-223-8064.

“I LOVED this class! I think it helped so much to erase a lot of my worries and fears that surround pregnancy and birth. It was great because I was forced out of my comfort zone to stay open and feel supported. Absolutely AMAZING experience… Thank You! Thank You!” —Expectant Mama

Blooma’s Complete Childbirth Education is driven by the Lamaze philosophy of birth — evidence-based, interactive learning — and enlivened by Blooma’s warmth.

Taught by Twin Cities childbirth educators and doulas who’ve supported hundreds of local births at hospitals, birth centers and homes, this workshop  promises to reduce fear, build confidence, and navigate birth choices that make sense for you.

Bellyrama 2010

Bellyrama is almost here!

One of our favorite events all year long, Bellyrama welcomes women in all phases of life (and their partners, too!) to practice yoga outside at the Lake Harriet Bandshell.

Sarah Longacre will lead an amazing (and free!) yoga class, whether rainy or sunny. Suzanne Sterling will also shine from the stage with her lovely voice and drumming.

Whether you’re a mama-to-be, a mama, a sister, a daughter, a grandmother, bring your yoga mat, a bottle of water, and your sunscreen to Lake Harriet on Saturday, Aug. 27, 9 a.m.

Last year we welcomed over 350 attendees. We hope you’ll be one of them this year! And oh, yes, Blooma teachers will be on-hand to make sure each and every one of you gets one our famous Blooma rub-downs during savasana! Ahhhh…

Still need some inspiration? Check out these gorgeous photos from last year’s event.

Where can I park?!

August 9, 2011

We know, road construction isn’t much fun (unless you spot the cute construction worker I’ve noticed!). Fortunately, the work outside of Blooma Minneapolis is scheduled to be over SOON (Aug. 18) AND we want to make coming here worth your while.

Each time you come to class, you’ll be entered into a daily drawing for prizes like classes and Blooma gear. Fun!

Hang in there, mamas. We’ll have a new, smooth road soon. Until then, please park along France or Sunnyside.
