Blooma Prenatal Yoga DVD: Take Two!

December 16, 2013

You heard it here first, friends.  Sarah Longacre, Founder & Owner of Blooma, will be releasing her second Prenatal Yoga DVD, this time giving you two sequences for the price of one.  Blooma’s first DVD was released four years ago and was a huge hit for prenatal mamas all over the world.  For the newest release, Sarah Longacre brings you both an A.M. and P.M. sequence; energizing you for your day, and bringing you a sense of calm to wind down and rest.  These two 35-min sequences were created to be beautiful and empowering practices for your sacred journey into motherhood.

Making it’s big release on Thursday, December 19th, the hard copy will be available at the studio.

A little bit about the DVD from Sarah Longacre herself:

“As a mother who works full time, has a social life, and does her best to keep her family her #1 priority, I know it can be challenging to dedicate a whole hour every day to yoga practice. But I’ve learned that if I can take any time at all on the mat it makes a huge difference to me and my baby–it’s so worth it. In this spirit I created two very different prenatal sequences that are just 35 minutes each.

The A.M. sequence is fresh with energy, dance and movement to warm you, celebrate your body and prepare you for your day. (Of course this can be done anytime in your day. Just listen to what you need in that moment).
The P.M. sequence is grounding, cozy and 100% about relaxation.  It is the perfect 35 minutes to calm you after a busy day and prepare you for a long night of sleep (with a few bathroom breaks of course). “
If you have the time, you can even do the segments back-to-back. You will love this new offering. Pregnant or not, we invite you to enjoy these new sequences.
(And of course, it’s the perfect gift for you or someone you love!)
Find them at Blooma locations on Thursday the 19th, and online very soon.

December 4, 2012

One of their outreach communities is near and dear to Blooma’s heart — yoga for underprivileged pregnant teens.

OneYogaHelp Blooma give the gift of prenatal yoga to local pregnant teens during a special fundraising yoga class at Blooma Minneapolis, Monday, Dec. 10, 7:30-9 p.m. Sign up now or RSVP to Blooma at 612.233.8064.

Mamas, how good does yoga feels to your pregnant body and heart? Now imagine you’re a pregnant teenager… how would prenatal yoga affect your pregnancy? Your view of birth?

If you can’t attend our special fundraising class, but would like to donate to this cause, you can donate online at the Karma Tribe website. Read more about Karma Tribe in this Minneapolis Star-Tribune article!

Jesse’s Birth Story: “Calm, Peaceful, Powerful”

November 28, 2012

A big, big congratulations to Blooma Prenatal Yoga and Vinyasa Flow Yoga teacher, Jesse Bennet, on the arrival of her sweet baby boy!

Today Jesse shares her birth story and intimate photos of her labor and first moments post-birth.

We love you, Jesse, for all that you share with Blooma’s mamas and for your beautiful strength as a woman, mother and teacher.

{By Jesse}

My labor began Saturday the 18th when I could tell my Braxton Hicks were turning into a bit more organized and intense contractions.

My mom flew into town from California just for the weekend to see me pregnant because I wasn’t “due” until the 29th! Saturday night of course we were watching “What to Expect When You Are Expecting” (I love that movie!!) and I began timing my contractions. They were getting stronger.

At midnight they really arrived every 5 minutes and I knew that my body was starting to work! Fifteen minutes before leaving to take my mom to the airport my water sprung a leak!

My mom stayed to be with Madison, and Ryan and I headed to Abbott. We arrived at Abbott around 1:30 and I was a 4. By 2:30 my midwife was able to break the rest of my water and I went into full active labor.

The next 5 hours I spent moving— on the ball, stretching over the bed, and I spent a lot of it in the shower with Ryan pouring water on my back.

Once I hit transition they filled the tub and when I got in my body felt so much lighter. Time is a little fuzzy during labor but I remember in the tub feeling strong.

My midwife said I would know when it is time to push and she just let my body birth. It was calm and peaceful and powerful.

My sweet son Samuel was born in the water at 7:42 p.m., weighing in at 7 lbs, 2 ounces and we could not be more in love.

Blooma On the Road: Kuwait!

November 21, 2012

The world wants more Blooma Prenatal Yoga!

Sarah Longacre and Stacy Seebart are keeping a busy schedule these days with their traveling prenatal yoga teacher trainings. Now they’re on their way to KUWAIT for a training Jan. 10-13, 2013. We thought you’d enjoy seeing Blooma’s poster translated into Arabic. Simply beautiful!

Can’t make it to Kuwait? Other upcoming prenatal yoga teacher trainings include level 1 in Minneapolis, Jan. 3-6 and a 100-hour prenatal yoga teacher training (levels 1 + 2 combined) in Costa Rica, held at the gorgeous Nosara Yoga Institute.

We are so grateful for the interest in our teacher trainings and for the opportunity to share the gift of prenatal yoga with mamas around the world.

“Fauxmosas,” Free Photos + Yoga Kick Off Blooma St. Paul’s Opening This Monday!

November 17, 2012

Our new Blooma St. Paul location opens MONDAY, Nov. 19, at 493 Selby Ave, across from The Happy Gnome. The teachers, staff and wellness practitioners have been meeting at the new space, working hard to get it ready, and it is looovely, mamas. We can’t wait to show you!

Monday kicks off with 6 a.m. Kundalini Yoga with Tracy Cielto. Give it a try!

In the mood to celebrate? Prenatal Yoga teacher Sarah Hrudka is! She’s teaching the first Prenatal Yoga class in our new space on Monday at 9:30 a.m. And she’s bringing “fauxmosas” for everyone to toast our opening! (There’s childcare during this class, too.)

Sarah will keep the good energy and faux bubbly flowing during her 3:30 p.m. Vinyasa Flow class (which you might like to think of as Happy Hour Flow!).

Sarah also happens to be an amazing photographer, so she’s offering to snap a pic of your belly or of you doing your favorite pose, and will email it to you Tuesday to keep or print if you’d like. Sign up now for Sarah’s 9:30 a.m. Prenatal Yoga class or 3:30 p.m. Vinyasa Flow class!

New mamas will want to check out Bridget McGreevy’s Bring Your Own Baby (BYOB) Yoga class at 11:15 a.m., which also boasts childcare for your older kiddos. (As I’m writing this, there are only two spots left in BYOB childcare!)

At 12:45 p.m., come with your older babies to Little Movers & Crawlers with Kat Vondelinde, who brings to her class a calm, bright energy and background in early childhood education.

And of course, we know that Bridget’s regular Monday night Prenatal Yoga class at 5:45 p.m. will continue to be a favorite.

A couple of last notes of importance:

  • Did you know that your 1st class at Blooma (any location) is FREE? That’s right! So please pass along the news of Blooma’s new St. Paul and Minneapolis locations, or better yet, bring a friend to class.
  • Parking: You’ll find plenty of parking for the new St. Paul Blooma on the side neighborhood streets.

We’ll see you Monday in St. Paul — we can’t wait!
